Independent Consultant - Participated in a major software upgrade and implementation project for a graphics design firm. Duties included; Making recomendations on library setup and job control for AS/400, programming, providing technical assistance to programming staff, consulting on business issues, gathering specifications for software modifications and enhancements, designing software modifications, estimating software modifications, managing programming assignments, testing software changes, supervising writing of user documentation, planning implementation schedule, implementation support, post implementation support, training, documenting modifications, writing newsletter articles. Provided programming and technical services for another client. |
1988 to 1993 Consultant for a Software service provider.
Worked on or managed numerous project teams for a wide variety of clients. Was promoted from analyst level position to project manager level. Served as the primary backup for the operations manager. Coordinator of standards for coding and marking of software modifications. Was a key member of a team that developed and integrated the Trade Allowances module into the CA-PRMS Order Entry module. Software was developed in RPG400. This enhancement was the largest modification ever added to the Order Entry software. Made extensive use of use of the APPC and SNADS capabilities of the AS/400. Provided technical support for conversions from S/38 to AS/400. Developed a disaster recovery plan. Was involved in the planning and execution of the relocation of an AS/400 across country. |
1987 to 1988 Independent Consultant
Member of a team that developed release 8.0 of the Pansophic PRMS software package. Development was done in RPGIII on the S/38 at Pansophic headquarters in Chicago. The PRMS package contained over three million lines of code and Pansophic had in excess of $200 million in annual sales. |
