AmeriCold Logistics – Sandy Springs, GA (March 2008 to October 2008)

Leading third-party provider of supply chain solutions/logistics in the consumer packaged goods industry. Use of both legacy and Nulogix Transportation software.  With the Transportation group, responsibility in developing and maintaining Carrier and Customer Tariffs.  Involved in a large project to upload National Bid Carrier rates from Combinenet.com website and propagating the winning bids into the Tariff Rating system.  Wrote database package to maintain Dept. of Energy weekly fuel rates. This included developing software using RPG-Free, SQL, CL, Query/400.

 

United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) - Suwanee, GA  (November, 2001 to November, 2005, currently On-Demand Contract)

Programmer/Analyst - Contract

Responsible for development of legacy system.  Projects included development of the archiving of data to be viewed on-line and development of a Global Rate Change function to calculate union dues automatically for members of all active employers.  Utilized RPG/RPGLE, CL and Query/400.

 

Assurant Solutions – Marietta, GA (October 2007 to January 2008)

Product Warranty division supporting in-house applications for Batch processing systems.  Technical applications included RPG-LE, RPG-Free, Embedded SQL, CLP, Turnover - Change Management System.  Working on Accounting system with interface to SmartStream Accounting package.  Interacting with managers/users to analyze and investigate requirements.

 

YKK-USA – Marietta, GA (July 2006 to October 2007)

New Development of Field Technical Center for a Manufacturing environment.  Strong hands-on experience with RPGIV and RPG-Free using Embedded SQL.  Heavy Interactive and Batch programming with extensive use of Subfiles.  Very dynamic environment with heavy emphasis on Analytical skills.  Worked very closely with management and end-users.

RPGIV Programmer/Analyst – Contract

Parent company: Cox Enterprises.  Assigned to support legacy business software for over 100 auto auctions involving maintenance and development of software to enhance the transactions of the auto trade at the auctions.  These applications were unique to the trade and included tracking inventory and sales of vehicles.  Programming in RPGIV with the use of Embedded SQL in both RPGLE and CLLE.  In some applications, the use of Socket Programming was implemented to minimize interactive intensive programs. Utilizing Journaling, Trigger, Subfile, Message Subfile programming.  Intensive use of ALDON source management.

Senior Programmer/Analyst - Permanent

Responsible for development and maintenance of in-house developed software including interactive and batch applications using RPGIV ILE and CLP on AS/400 including Subfile and Message Subfiles.  Developed applications to maintain margin analysis of retail pricing of fuels at service stations.  Also, developed databases, file maintenance applications, and batch reporting applications.  Utilized SQL for queries/data manipulation.  Interfaced with user community in a production support capacity to support and troubleshoot various proprietary software applications.  Created File Transfer Protocol for downloading pricing information compiled nationwide.  Developed FTP applications for uploading accounting data to SAP financials.

The Athletes Foot - Atlanta, GA  (October 1998 to October 1999)

Consultant - Contract

Project manager of Y2K code analysis/implementation at a retail distributor in Kennesaw, GA.  Project included database modifications and system cleanup in an RPG ILE environment supervising a team of four persons.  Other projects involved working with Island Pacific wholesale distribution system and Lawson financial software and maintaining Order Entry and Sales applications.

 

The Insurance House - Atlanta, GA (January 1997 to September 1998)

Consultant - Contract

Involved in several projects at The Insurance House in Marietta, GA such as six months of intense Y2K analysis and program compliance modifications.  Design of new Fire and Homeowner applications using Referential Integrity and Trigger programming.  Maintain existing business applications using ILE RPG techniques.

 

International Business Machines - Atlanta, GA

Consultant - Permanent

Supported Database group on the IBM AS/400 Supportline in a help desk environment.  Recreated customer problems and provided customers with program examples.  Analyzed existing problems to determine whether they are user error or program defects.  Environment consisted of DB2/400, SQL, Query Optimizer, Journaling, DRDA, Datapropagator, SMP and SMAPP's.

In a management consulting firm, responsibilities included supporting in-house developed Distribution software known as DCMS (Distribution Center Management System), managing client project billing, managing and estimating all software requirements and client support, administering software releases for AS/400 and supporting Client Access/400 MS Window 3.1.  Provided technical support for client's system and demonstrated client satisfaction.  Developed estimates for system-wide changes.  Involved in system migrations and product installations.  Administered all operating system software updates.

In a software-consulting firm, responsibilities included interacting with customers to define requirements, supporting, maintaining, and enhancing application programs using RPG/400 on IBM AS/400.  Served in a nine-month project on-site in Kentucky installing MAPICS/DB.  Responsible for supporting several client sites.   Oversaw conversion and maintenance of MBI Distribution and Accounting systems.  Responsible for installing OV/400 and training management using calendar and electronic mail functions.  Developed and implemented in-house candidate tracking system, an interactive criteria search of qualified candidates for client contracts.
