     Other considerations for i 6.1 adoption:
           With i 6.1, IBM exploits the capabilities of the Machine
           Interface (MI) architecture to significantly improve programs.
           All programs created for previous releases must undergo an
           automatic conversion to run on i 6.1.,
           With almost 900 applications already supported on i 6.1, this
           conversion has been going quite smoothly.  However, ISVs should
           understand the implications of the conversion since it may
           require some pre-V5R1 programs to be recompiled.  And, in rare
           instances, it may require some source code changes.

           IBM Innovation Centers
           The IBM Innovation Centers have trained resources available to
           help ISVs upgrade their solutions at no cost.   ISVs can
           leverage the IIC's help either by going onsite to one of the
           centers or by accessing them through a secure remote
           connection.

              "request an engagement" need PW ID and password
              select a location and continue to complete form

           IBM Virtual Loaner Program
           If the ISV just needs hardware and software access to perform
           their i 6.1 validation, the self-service Virtual Loaner Program
           (VLP) is another no cost option.     The ISV can get an
           overview of the VLP program and sign up for remote access to a
           i 6.1 partition on either Power5 or Power6 hardware from this
