Sending pages (to pagers) from the AS/400

If you're interested in sending pages (to an electronic pager) from AS/400 programs or an AS/400 command line, you've got the following options:

a. Alex Nubla wrote an extensive tutorial and provides free source code for an AS/400 alphanumeric pager using the industry-standard Telocator Alphanumeric Protocol (TAP). The tutorial and source is available from http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Pines/5581/tapframes.htm.

b. If you have older print copies of NEWS/400 or older NEWS/400 CDs, you can always read about and try the NEWS/400 Pager utility published way back in the February 1994 article "Building an AS/400 Paging System." (The code, but not the article, is available online to AS400 Network Professional members.)
