Library size in a jiffy
By Richard Nichols, search400 member
Tired of running a query to check library and file
sizes? There's an easy way to do this, and it doesn't
require that you write a query or do anything special.
IBM has a great tool for monitoring libraries and file
sizes. All you need to do to access this tool is type
GO DISKTASKS.
The first time you do this you need to
use option one to schedule the system to build the
information for you. When I run it, I have it on a
schedule to run every Saturday night. You can pick the
day and time that's most convenient for you, of course.
In my case, on Monday I come in and use option two to
print disk space information. I can quickly tell if I
have a library or file size that needs attention.
