Table QADBIFLD contains every field from every file on your system.

You could always query the file QADBIFLD. IBM built this on V3R2 to store every field in every file.
You create a file and this automatically gets updated.
The reason for this is that Client developers didn't want to mess with outfiles or API's.
This has what they needed.
